Child Serial Killers-Temple Bar Dublin

Between 2000 and 2010 196 children who were in the care of the Irish State services and HSE (Health Service Executive) died in their care.
Of the 196 deaths, some 112 died of non-natural causes such as drug overdoses, suicides, road incidents or unlawful killings. We have put this independent report into the deaths of these children again on public display to again ask the question who is accountable for these deaths?

'Safe Home' 'Extallation, Fade St, Dublin July 2012

Yesterday I installed an 'extallation' on Fade Street, Dublin. It deals with the issue of violence in ourselves and manifest in society. It takes the form of a literary tale of a soldier's journey through destruction and ultimate self-destruction and final realisation that it is everyones duty to de-activate and de-commission their own inclination for violence and anger. The piece is called 'Safe home' as it is the idealised place for safeness and security. The journey home is a life long process and this work is intended to accompany you on that journey so that we may accompany each other. Render the streets the safest place to be rather than the hostile fear-making place they have become.
"I am a fighter, fighter’s blood runs through my veins. The air I breathe is warrior air created by mankind ever warring with itself. The fight gives me life, fills me full of purpose and cause. Fear can find no home upon me as I travel like a feather upon Apollo’s arrow, higher and faster than Icarus on his wings.
I am sworn to earth, to territories and boundaries. I am in all your hearts, surging through all your blood. I am your fighter, brave and strong always at the ready for combat, for rescue. I am ancient and I am new."

The Cloyne Report at Exchange Street Dublin
The Cloyne Report into clerical child abuse (released in July 2011) is displayed in Temple Bar Dublin. The responsability for children rests with all adults. We neglect this at their peril. In order to acknowledge just what it was that happened in our society the present installation at Exchange Street, Temple Bar, is there to remind us of the horrendous acts of cruel and inhumane treatment that were perpetrated against tens of thousands of children in this country and all over the world. The scale of this particular criminal doing is only now beginning to emerge. The Cloyne Report is about the wholesale abuse and rape of children it should never be entangled with a spat between Mr Enda Kenny our Taoiseach and the Vaticans diplomatic religious core. We will continue to place in the public domain wordings of crimes that do not give comfort to those who committed them. A time now, for the honest truth of what happened, words to describe this are not merely child abuse and child neglect but in this instance the sexual rape of children.
This work is part of a programme of cultural events that Farcry Productions have been engaged in for over a decade.
